Blue Devil Cheese and Bacon Dip

Easy to make and even easier to devour, this dip is a crowd-pleaser that's hugely popular at Duke tailgates and welcome anywhere that big flavors reign. Thick-sliced, peppered bacon gives the dip a distinctly porky flavor.

    Makes 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

1 (8-ounce) tub whipped cream cheese
3/4 cup crumbled Danish blue cheese
3/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
2 tablespoons minced onion
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
Dash of hot pepper sauce
6 slices peppered bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled
Apple wedges, cut up raw vegetables, and/or Wheat Thins

Preparation

  1. Step 1

    1. Put the cream cheese, blue cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, horseradish, onion, Italian seasoning, and pepper sauce in a food processor. Pulse until very smooth. Add the bacon and pulse until just blended.

    Step 2

    2. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate until the flavors are well integrated, at least one hour or overnight.

    Step 3

    3. Serve with apples, vegetables, and/or Wheat Thins.
